Zzzoofari Slumber

Join us for a unique overnight camping experience as you sleep under the stars just a short distance away from the snoozing animals.

Recommended for families with kids ages 4-12 years old, Zzzoofari Slumber features a variety of activities during the evening and breakfast the next morning. Campers also receive free entry to the Zoo on Sunday.

Pricing

Participants (age 4+)  |  Members - $40, Non-members - $60
Toddlers (ages 2-4)  |  Members - $20, Non-members - $40

A full schedule will be provided the week prior to the event. Here's a general outline of what you can expect:

Saturday Night
  • 4:00 - 6:00 pm  |  Check-in, campsite opens
  • 4:00 - 6:30 pm  |  Quill's Cafe will be open with a limited menu for purchase
  • 6:00 pm  |  Zoo closes to daytime guests
  • 6:00 pm - Dusk  |  Enjoy select animal habitats, an animal show, the Jungle Gym, campfire treats, and free zip line and carousel rides.
  • 9:00 pm  |  Lights out, quiet time begins
Sunday Morning
  • Continental breakfast
  • Before 8:30 am  |  Campsite breakdown and load out
  • 9:00 am  |  Zoo opens to daytime guests
  • Your event wristband gives you access to the Zoo all day!
Saturday Night
  • 4:00 - 6:00 pm  |  Check-in, campsite opens
  • 6:00 pm  |  Zoo closes to daytime guests; free attraction rides begin
  • 6:00 pm - dusk  |  Lawn games available
  • 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm  |  Campfire treats! We’ll have marshmallows and hot dogs available to roast on Festival Field. 
  • 7:30 - 8:00 pm  |  Nocturnal Animal show at Amphitheater
  • 7:45 pm  |   Animal bedtime / rolling exhibit closures / Jungle Gym and Unseen New World closes  
  • 9:00 pm  |  Ride attractions close
  • 9:30 pm  |  Lights out!
Sunday Morning
  • 7:00 - 8:00 am  |  Breakfast! Head to the Jungle Terrace tent and enjoy a grab & go continental breakfast with some special animal guests visiting.
  • 7:00 - 8:00 am  |  Start breaking down, cleaning, & packing up your campsite. We’ll have a cart to help get your gear to the parking lot available from 7:45 - 8:45. Make sure your wristband is on - this will get you back into the park. 
  • 8:00 - 9:00 am  |  Rolling exhibit openings! Check the Wake and Shine schedule you received at check-in to watch the animals enjoy their morning.
  • 8:30 am  |  Campsite closes – campsites must be removed by this time and put in your vehicle. You are welcome to stay in the zoo as long as you want on Sunday while wearing your event wristband.
  • 9:00 am  |  Park opens to daytime guests – ride attractions are open and available for purchase.
Recommended Items:
  • Tent, sleeping bags & camping gear (no RVs or travel trailers are permitted)
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Toiletries (Please note: There are no showers)
  • Flashlight or battery-powered lantern
  • Parents, be sure to charge your devices. There is no access to electricity so please plan accordingly.
  • Food or snacks to supplement provided hot dog and marshmallow roast
  • Camp chair or blanket
  • Remember this is a rain or shine event - please pack and dress appropriately
  • Staff headquarters can be found at the food tents on Festival Field. If needed, First Aid kits are available here. There will be a staff member onsite that can be contacted for emergencies.
  • If you are camping with a group, the first person to arrive may reserve an area on the field for the rest of the group to pitch their tents with them. Please be reasonable & considerate to your fellow campers.
  • After dark, stay in the designated well-lit areas. For your own safety, do not go into barricaded areas or go into un-lit areas.
  • 9:00 pm is LIGHTS OUT! We’ll turn off the park lights surrounding the campsite to allow us all to get some rest. We ask that all guests honor this as quiet time and children's restroom trips are supervised after lights out.
  • You must wear your wristbands for the duration of the campout. This helps the staff identify you and permits you to be in the Zoo after-hours as well as for re-entry on Sunday morning.
  • All campsites must be broken down by 8:30 am on Sunday morning.
