NASHVILLE, Tenn.--A Nashville organization is working to distribute 3,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in the area and FOX 17 News has teamed up to help.
Creative Girls Rock, a 501(c)(3) organization with a focus on the education and empowerment of young women, will hold their third annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 14, at 9am.
The organization will look to distribute 3,500 backpacks filled with supplies at 9 locations in the area. Backpacks will include supplies including pencils, composition books, crayons, folders, USB drives, paper, earphones, notebooks, and more.
The event is in partnership with the Youth Services Division of the Metro Nashville Police Department, other local organizations and FOX 17 News.
Leading up to the event, the organization is accepting items through August 6th. Items they will accept for donation to fill bags includes: Jump drives, earphones, spiral notebooks, pens, markers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, highlighters, colored pencils and scissors.
