With so many new residents moving in from the New York area, there is a growing desire in Nashville for a crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside, cream-cheese-smothered, perfectly-golden bagel. Although there are fewer options here than there are up north, Nashville is home to some truly delicious bagels that can satisfy your craving. |

Proper Bagel Tried and true, it’s no surprise that Proper Bagel made the list. The owners of Proper are from New York themselves and even fly smoked fish in directly from Brooklyn twice weekly. Pro tip: Try a bialy when you visit — it’s one of their specialties. Nicky’s Coal Fired Bagel Shop
Nicky’s Coal Fired might be on your radar for pizza nights, but it also has a bagel shop open Saturday + Sunday from 9-11 a.m. If you can get out of bed in time, you won’t regret it. Check out the menu to see what's offered. |

Mr. Aaron’s Goods
Mr. Aaron’s is largely wholesale — delivering to popular Nashville restaurants like Margot + Acme Feed & Seed. Lucky for us, the business sells homemade bagels to retail customers, too. You can preorder a variety of bagels and schmears on the website for pickup Tuesday-Friday out of TKO Restaurant (4202 Gallatin Pk.). Delivery is also available on Saturdays.
H&S Bagels
Even though H&S Bagels is fairly new to Nashville, it is certainly not new to the bagel scene. The shop prides itself on delivering a true New York bagel to Nashvillians using hand-rolled dough, family recipes, and NYC water. Fun fact: Owner Hector Sanchez could hand-roll 520 bagels in 45 minutes back when he made bagels in New Jersey.
